Super Saturday:
High class 3 year old colt Northern Meteor returns to racing on Saturday in the Group 1 $1 million Newmarket Hcp at Flemington over 1200m. This exciting colt is returning to racing after a brilliant Group 1 win in the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on Derby day last November.  Northern Meteor has been trained to perfection by Gai Waterhouse and has been specifically set for the Newmarket on Saturday. It will be a very tough  assignment with 23 runners thundering down the Flemington straight  but 3 year olds have a terriffic record in this race and Northern Metreor is out to show what a high class horse he is.

Also running at Flemington on Saturday is Gold Water in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes.  This filly won impressively last start in the Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield and she has done nothig but improve since that win,she will be hard to hold out at Flemington on Saturday.

2 year old Colt Rhythm of Dance is also running on Saturday at Newcastle.  An Encosta de Lago out of the Mare Phone Pal.  He has been training well on the tracks and he is expected to be hard to beat on Saturday.

Sunday:
Northern Meteor's 3/4 brother Fight and Defend is out to redeem himself at Canberra on Sunday in the Canberra Guineas over 1400m.  Fight and Defend ran an inglorious race when last in the Autumn Stakes at Caulfield 2 weeks ago and was returned back to Gai Waterhouse's Randwick Stables.  His work has been encouraging this week and with Blake Shinn on board we are expecting a good turn around on Saturday and hopefully he will be back on track for a Derby preparation.

Monday:
Gooree has two runners at Warwick Farm on Monday 9th March the filly Above Perfection by Encosta de Lago out of the Stakes winning Mare Actress who is racing in a 1400m 3 year old fillys race.  To be ridden by Blake Shinn this filly has had the one start for a good 3rd at Canterbury over 1100m and will appreciate the step up to 1400m her work has been very encouraging since her last run and she should prove hard to beat.

Also running over 1400m in the one Metro win race is Joku a gelding by Xaar.  This horse has an imposing record and is first up from a spell, he has been trialing very impressively and we expect him to be very hard to beat on Monday.
